What does compressing to 10MB involve?
To compress a video to 10MB, use the compressor on this page: drop your file, choose the 10MB target, and press Compress. The tool reads your video's duration and computes the maximum H.264 bitrate that still fits under 10,000,000 bytes, then encodes locally in your browser. A 60-second clip typically lands around 480p–720p at that size with audio kept; muting audio or trimming length buys noticeably more pixels.
Steps
- 1
Drag your video onto the drop zone (or click to browse) and wait for the file details to appear.
- 2
Pick a target size: Discord Free (20MB, the current free limit), Safe 10MB, Nitro Basic (50MB), Nitro (up to 1GB), or type a custom MB cap.
- 3
Optionally choose a resolution cap (1080p/720p/480p) and whether to keep audio — muting audio saves roughly 12 KB per second.
- 4
Press Compress. The engine loads once (about 25MB, then cached by your browser) and your video is compressed locally with a live progress bar.
- 5
Preview the before/after result, then hit Download and attach the file in Discord — it will play inline in chat.
