BitSized is built to collect as little as possible, and its core tools are architecturally incapable of receiving your files: the video compressor and calculator run entirely in your browser via WebAssembly and JavaScript, reading, processing, and saving files on your own device. We operate no upload servers for tool functionality, so your videos, file names, and file contents are never transmitted to us or anyone else by the tools themselves.
Information we do collect falls into three groups. First, standard server logs: like nearly every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes request-level data such as IP address, user agent, and requested URL for security, abuse prevention, and delivery — retained per Cloudflare's standard practices. Second, analytics: if we enable privacy-respecting analytics, it will be aggregate and cookieless; this policy will be updated before any analytics that could identify individuals goes live. Third, email: if you email us, we receive your address and message, use them to reply and improve the site, and delete correspondence when it's no longer needed.
Advertising: BitSized displays ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. You can control personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) and your browser or device settings; opting out of personalization does not remove ads, it makes them less relevant. Where required by law (e.g., EEA/UK), a consent banner lets you accept or reject personalized advertising before non-essential cookies load.
Children: the site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because our tools don't require accounts, we generally have no way to know a user's age or identity at all.
Your rights: depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and similar), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data. Since we hold almost nothing, most requests resolve quickly — email [email protected] and we will respond within the legally required window. Cloudflare log data and ad-cookie data are controlled by those processors under their own policies; we will direct you where only they can act.
Changes: if this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, note the change on the homepage for 30 days. The tools' privacy architecture — no uploads, no accounts — is the site's founding commitment and will not change quietly.
